Eli Lilly announced positive top-line results from its phase 3 Triumph One trial, evaluating Retatrutide, an investigational triple hormone receptor agonist. According to the company, participants receiving the highest 12 milligram dose achieved an average weight reduction of 28.3% over 80 weeks. Lilly also reported that 45.3% of participants lost at least 30% of body weight. Retatrutide is designed to activate three hormone receptors, GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. While these results are notable, Retatrutide remains an investigational medicine and is not approved for public use. Ongoing studies are continuing to evaluate its safety and efficacy.
